• Alyssa Satin Capucilli played library with her sisters when they were kids. She says, "We would take turns pretending to be the librarian, and we would recommend books to each other, check them out, and tell each other to 'SSSSHHH!'""
• Alyssa Satin Capucilli is a professional modern dancer. 
• Alyssa Satin Capucilli got the idea for the Biscuit books after her daughter, Laura, got a job dog-sitting for a neighbor's golden retriever.
• Alyssa Satin Capucilli has her own dog - a chocolate lab named Huckleberry. 
• Alyssa Satin Capucilli grew up in Brooklyn, and now lives in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York.

Katie Says: Biscuit is one of those characters whose popularity never dies away. He's popular with toddlers, and just as popular with second- and third-graders who struggle with reading. His stories are simple, and they focus on basic, everyday occurrences, which is why I think kids relate to them so strongly. I also love Capucilli's Panda Kisses. I read it at my toddler story times every year near Valentine's Day.
